Vinegar: The Magic Solution

When I was a kid my grandmother used to keep a giant jug of vinegar out in the open on her kitchen counter. I distinctly remember seeing it there, because I also remember her regularly using it for various reasons throughout the house.

It wasn’t until I became a homeowner myself that I could truly appreciate the wonders of something so simple and affordable as vinegar.

I’ve written about my use of vinegar many times over, but in short, I’ve used it for cleaning grout, adding some baking soda to it for clogged pipes, dropped a little bit into the laundry, killed small weeds in my yard, “brewed” some vinegar in an effort to clean my coffee machine, cleaned up pet stains, neutralized carpet stains, and cleaned my tub.

The crazy part is, that’s still not a complete list of all the ways vinegar to keep your home clean. In fact one more just came to mind: washing hardwood floors. Not only is it effective, but it’s the safest choice for your pets over any chemical solutions available in store.

I know that as circumstances evolve, I will find myself going to Google and asking, “How to _____.” If I were a gamblin man, I’d put money on the fact that vinegar would be one solution to whatever issues may exist in the home.
