Exploring NJ Downtowns: Somerville

I’ve been to Somerville a bunch of times (we celebrated a birthday earlier in the year at @WolfgangsSomerville), and I’ve since come back a few times on Friday nights for great dinners, nice walks, and local shopping.

This past summer I was excited to check out @villagebrewingcompany for the first time since it opened in April of this year (it was previously a massive antique shop), and the new digs didn’t disappoint.

I also hit up some personal favorites. @ComicFortress is there for the graphic novel fans, @RetroClassicsNJ has practically every video game ever made, and @togitnj is an awesome spot for the board game/role-playing/card game fans. @Yestercades is also a great way to escape the heat of the summer or the cold of the winter with a bunch of retro gaming and pinball options. Plus, if you enjoy shopping for antiques, put this town on your list of places to visit.

Somerville’s downtown is super pet friendly. A lot of stores leave out water bowls or have outdoor seating set up so you can relax and enjoy dinner with your pet sitting close by.

The median sales price for a home in Somerville checks in at $355,000, according to the National Association of Realtors.
