Freshen Up Outside Before Listing to Give Your Home the ‘Wow Factor’

First impressions are everything. It applies to job interviews, first dates, and even selling your home.

Pictures and videos of your home will help market your property, but before you even get to that point you may need to consider freshening up the grounds before listing.

Admit it: You can hear this GIF

“Curb appeal” is a term thrown around often in real estate. This is your chance to make a strong first impression. When a potential buyer rolls up to the front door, you want them thinking “wow” before they even step foot into the house.

If you are serious about selling your home and making a strong first impression, then consider either hiring a professional landscaper or DIYing the exterior of your home before you take those photos for your listing.

Here’s a small checklist of items to review:

  • Fresh cut of the lawn (try and time this before your photos, too)
  • Weed the garden
  • Fresh mulch
  • Trim overgrown trees, bushes and hedges

Then take a step back, admire your work, and see if you can elicit that “Wow” from home buyers.
